What is STANCE?

In the world of custom cars, the United States and Japan have strong ties. We also have a high level of interest and respect for each country's culture and taste when it comes to car modification and car culture.

Car customization, like any other fashion, has its "trends". Trends born in Japan and the United States come and go, and then come and go again, like lowrider cars, muscle cars, American hot rods, and Japanese drift cars. These trends permeated people's consciousness through popular culture such as the movie Fast and Furious, the anime Initial D, and games about street racing and modified cars.

Throughout the long history of car customization, modifications that emphasize the ``shape'' and ``posture'' of the car itself have attracted attention, regardless of car model or fashion. Around 2009, the word "STANCE" was coined to describe a customization method that has its roots in low-height cars and drift cars.

In March 2010, shortly after the word "stance" began to be used for custom cars, Elvis Skender, a car enthusiast living in California, started a personal blog. ``On that blog, Skender introduced photos and articles about cars that he thought were particularly cool. The name of the blog was ``STANCENATION.''

Now spread across the internet and social media, it's become a place where car enthusiasts, street racers, car drifters, and car modders from around the world come together to find and share custom car inspiration. STANCENATION currently also offers Japanese car accessories, gifts for car enthusiasts, and classic car gifts.
